What is the Georgia Promise Scholarship?
This program empowers families to pursue high-quality education through private schooling, home study, and tutoring services if zoned to a low performing public school.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Residency: Must have lived in Georgia for at least one year (exceptions for active-duty military).
- Attendance Zone: Zoned to a low-performing public school as identified by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement.
- Enrollment: Currently enrolled in a Georgia public school (2024-25) or entering kindergarten.
Award Details:
- Maximum Amount: Up to $6,500 per student per year.
- What It Covers:
- Private school tuition and fees.
- Tutoring services by certified professionals.
- Curriculum and textbooks for home study.
- Transportation costs (up to $500 annually).
- Approved therapy services (speech, occupational, physical).
- Disbursement: Funds will be distributed quarterly into a student’s education savings account. Families direct payments to approved vendors.
